i'll get to see my palm trees again!

At this rate, I think I'll be blogging once a week! haha.. I think I might be losing the blogging streak. Anyway, be warned. Long entry ahead. If you don't want to read, just leave.

---------------------

My airticket is finally settled! *woohooo~* Met up with Stella and Isabel this morning (or rather, lateee morning heh) to go buy tickets. I think we're gonna get along just fine! =) I think I'm pretty similar to Stella in terms of our interests and it's quite freaky actually. haha..

The first thing she said was that she wants to go travelling. And shopping. hahaha.. Exactly what I had in mind! (We already have plans to buy a few coats over there and just keep exchanging so we don't have to buy so many, yet have a variety to choose from. *lol*) We even have the same ringtone! *cue Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl* She reckons that I might just start eating vegetables over there. hahahaha.. We'll see girl, we'll see. (eh, I doubt that'll really happen la. But if it does, I'm treating my girlfriends and family to a vegetarian buffet, if there is such a thing. *lol*)

So settling the tickets took up a good portion of the day. We finally settled on a flying date (12 Sept, early early morning.. 2 freaking am!) and we're flying by Emirates. (stopover at Dubai.. oooh *yay!* I'll get to see my palm trees again~*) 18 hour flight. Maaan, I will be sooo super jet-lagged after that. haha but oh well, that's not something to worry about for another 2 more months. =)

Had a pretty decent week. Met up with Farhana on Tuesday night. =) Super mellow night. haha.. Her workplace is pretty far from Orchard (Bukit Merah, so ulu! wahahaha), so she said she would probably only reach Orchard around 6.45 pm. Since I had quite some time to kill, I thought of just waiting around at the surau at the Royal Plaza on Scotts hotel first.

But of course, I jusssttt had to walk past Mango. Sale! Up to 50% off!!! (ok fine, now it's up to 70% off, I should've waited a few days *lol*)

Walked in, picked up a few stuffs and tried them on quickly. (I kinda like this style of shopping. I tend to end up buying more stuff that I like this way. haha) Ended up walking out of the shop with a brown shrug and an olive green top. wahahaha..

Olive green top - original price = $35 - sale price = $17
-> Amount saved = $18
Brown shrug - original price = $46 - sale price = $23
-> Amount saved = $23

Was so happy with my buys! haha.. Then Far finally arrived and we had a lovely dinner at RamenTen catching up with whatever has been going on in our lives. PA mostly. haha... Let's meet up again with Mr Soh next time before I leave k! =) If he can spare us the time, *lol*

Anyway we were walking around after that, and I was so impressed by the Mango sale that I had to drag her there again! And guess what? I found a pretty pretty brown coat/jacket this time round! With 4 buckles in front. Just perfect for my exchange! =) Of course I immediately grabbed it. haha..

Brown coat/jacket - original price = $125 - sale price = $62
-> Amount saved = $63

Total damage = $103
Total saved = $105

Good deal? You betcha! wahahhaa..

No photos this time around. I've actually been carrying my camera around lately, but lazy to snap la. I think I'm too used to trigger-happy friends (read: yani, nyd, rozzie) that I've grown accustomed to them whipping out their cameras and I just pose. haha.. I better start getting into the habit of taking photos again cos there'll be loads of photo-ops in the UK! =)

Thursday lunch, we ate at Pizza Hut with the other SMU interns in our department. It was okay. We got cheated of the student meal deal cos it was written in fine print that the deal only starts at 130. pffstserfsdtesdawsakljrwak. Oh well, I guess 10 buckeroos is okay for pasta, soup and drink. haha highlight of the meal - the ah beng showdown between lawrence and jia hao. So funny! *lol*

Friday night was dinner with my mom and brothers. (ok, I just realised that my days tend to revolve around fooood. -_- ) My dad's card had this buy-2-main-courses-get-1-free deal at Breeks so that's where we went! =) Food was okay.. not fantastic, and we ended up being too full somehow. It also made me realise I prefer nice quiet cosy restaurants as opposed to noisy ones cos you can't concentrate on the conversation and you get distracted easily.

Only one more week of work left. I think the new graduates are eager to take our seats anyway. I can't wait for the 2 months of bumming to come! (yes, I've not found another job yet. Or rather, I've not been looking. *ooops*) Actually I feel like just staying at home and learning how to cook. Hmm, maybe that's what I'll do.
