office politics
Office politics somehow seems to exists everywhere you go, no matter where you work. You just can't run away from it. And then you encounter those people who turn bitchy/grouchy the moment he/she is the least bit stressed out over work.
There is one such person I'm referring to in the office currently and boy, I hate it each time a new task is posted to me with her as the manager. She's like forever stressed out which also means that she's forever
bitchy. Ergh! It sucks when she talks to you in that condescending tone, especially when she gives incomplete instructions and she expects that you know what you're supposed to do. Hello! We're only interns la, you can't expect us to know all the procedures. If you had forgotten to tell us something important, don't come scolding us about not knowing. I just hate it. I hate people who think that just because they are a few positions higher than you, they can talk to you in any way that they want. Bleargh~* (haha somemore it's not like she's some big shot.. Assistant manager only leh..
*LOL*)
Then there are those who just simply refuse to admit their mistakes. AND starts lecturing you as if you're the one who made the mistake in the first place. *ahem*filing room people*ahem**cough* They totally piss me off. I won't get pissed off if you had just acknowledged that you had sent me the wrong file by mistake, and get the right one for me instead. But nooooo, you had to insist that I had asked for that file instead when the system clearly stated that I had not. And spend a good 10 mins of my time nagging at me to properly choose the correct file before reserving it. Hello, I had chosen the correct file la, it's just your eyes which saw the wrong file and then you refuse to admit your mistake. I'm sorry, but I'm just the type of person who hates being accused of something which I did not do. And this has happened more than once. -_-
Anyway, apart from them, everyone else is actually quite nice. My coach may not be the friendliest and most approachable one around but she does help me quite a bit. She's patient and I can ask her whatever questions I need to and she'll try to answer them and for that I'm really grateful. The senior perm staff around me are all really helpful also and they are always willing to teach you things that you don't know/understand, no matter how busy they are.
Today was a relatively slack day, cos I had cleared most of my cases and the administrator was on leave so she couldn't post me new cases to do. So when Suresh emailed me asking if I wanted to meet up for coffee arnd 3 plus, I jumped at the chance. haha! sneaking out of the office. I had nothing to do anyway this afternoon. (I had already asked for more work, but there just wasnt any today!) Went over to Mr Teh Tarik at Far East Square for drinks. =) adrenaline rush la.. haha..
