i just wanna rant

Ok this is gonna be quite a long post. Allow me the chance to rant a bit will ya? ;) If you duwan to read, you're welcomed to leave. =)

Work

Work has been okay. It's not exactly the most exciting job around, but I'm learning and that's good. I wasn't able to meet my coach until Thursday cos she was always either away on course, busy or on MC. So up till Wednesday, I was just doing random admin jobs or photocopying thick stacks of financial statements for god knows how many companies! I was so free on Wednesday, I kept going around to EVERYONE asking if they had anything for me to do. Anything! haha.. (I just don't know how to just sit at my desk and not do anything la)

But then suddenly, I had so much work to do on Thursday! Thanks to me going around telling everyone how free I was the previous day, everyone came up to me to give me work on Thursday! haha!

Did my first proper tax computation on Thursday. Proper, meaning for a company with real profits and expenses, with all the medical expenses to think about, and how much capital allowances to claim and what is the best way to set off their unutilised capital allowances and losses. The headache wasn't so much the calculations, but finding the information!

OMG. It's not like in school where you have all the information and all you got to do is just APPLY. But noooo! You have to sift through like hundreds of files (some on paper, some on the database) and sometimes you cant even find what you need! I spent one whole morning trying to find all the relevant information that I needed to do that computation. Imagine! One whole morning!!! In the end, the company doesn't even need to pay taxes cos it has more than enough unutilised capital allowances and losses carried forward from previous YAs.

Dinner

Met up with Yani, Nyd, Elly, Adila, Huzer and Hatta after work on Friday for dinner @ RamenTen. =) Felt so old, cos most of us came from work. Ergh. Yani from IBN (right?), Nyd from NUH, Huzer from UBS, and me from PWC. Yani was saying, ok from the looks of how we were dressed, we look on average, about 24. (ewwww!! I'm not even 21 yet!) Then we saw Huzer, and he looked about 42. hahaha!

Dinner was a funny affair la. All the usual nonsense. I'm glad I went. Although I'm super super broke now. Bloody hell la, I need my pay now! Now now now! My tutee has been postponing tuition and cos of that, I haven't gotten my pay yet! *boo*

The Malaysian Government

Fad's not coming back this weekend. Cos he's stuck in Malaysia! Apparently the Malaysian government has this STUPID ruling that if you apply for a less than a year student visa there, you cannot go outside Malaysia. Well, technically you can la, but then your visa will be revoked. WHAT STUPID AND UTTER RUBBISH! People want to go back home also cannot ah? What kind of stupid dickheads do they have in their government over there ah? I want to see my boyfriend also cannot! GRRR! I haven't seen him for almost 4 months already! 4 freaking months and you are not allowing him to come home for just 2 days! Bloody hell la, what incentive does your rule serve? Ptui. No wonder your country tak maju.

My brother got into Medicine!

Yay! Gonna have another doctor in the family! =) Alhamdulillah. My brother got into medicine at NUS. Oi, next time I'm sick you MUST give me free MC okay. Don't care about ethics. hahhaa.. He also very happy. Cos can finally skip the rest of NS after June. He hates the army la. haha..

Mendaki

This one also another organisation with a lot of dickheads. Seriously. They have one of the most incompetent staff I have ever heard of, comparable to Malaysian's standards. They sent my brother a rejection letter about a week back, saying he can't get the Special Malay Bursary. Like wth? That bursary has got to be one of the easiest bursaries to apply for as long as you get straight As for your A levels. And you tell me, how many Malays can actually get straight As for their A levels?

So my mom went to call up Mendaki to demand an explanation or a reason as to why my brother got rejected. And the woman who answered happily said that it should be because my brother didn't meet the qualifications. So my mom asked what qualifications. And she said *oh, his results la.*

HEH?

He got 4 As for his A levels, B3 for GP and 2 Merits for his S papers. How many Malays even take S papers? And you're telling my mom that his results didn't meet the qualifications? Hell, my mom can name practically all the Malay students who got 4 As this year at the tip of her fingers and trust me, there are not many.

And you know the best part? That woman didn't even ask for my brother's name! So she just assumed that his results didn't meet the qualifications la!!! What kind of incompetent staff is that?!?!

Mendaki's really quite screwed up man. Now he's asking them for help, they duwan to give. Later on, they will confirm ask him for help, once he's a doctor. Idiots. He said they must think that he's not special or malay enough to get the Special Malay Bursary.

I think my parents are gonna see Dr Isa, or maybe even Yaakob Ibrahim. We should have a good chance, since my brother already knows Yaakob Ibrahim. He better gets the support that he needs.

Weddings

I have two weddings to go to! One tmr and another next weekend! Omg I really really feel old. Once you start getting invitations to weddings of people that have no relations to your parents whatsoever, then you know that you're old. Fariz and Liyana are getting married tmr! So exciting! (I love weddings actually) haha.. and then next weekend is Ansari's wedding. Dunno yet if I'm going for that one. Far are you going? So many weddings!

And speaking of which, I'm just about to send my parents off at the airport cos they are going to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for my cousin's engagement. So fun! Wish I can tag along, but I got work on Monday. *boo*
