i love bangkok!

I miss Bangkok already! wahhhhh *wailsss* and I wanna eat tom yam now!

The trip was fantastic. I came in, not really knowing what to expect. Not knowing half the people we were travelling with. But now, the past 5 days seem too short.

We took Air Asia, haha first time travelling by budget air. Not bad. I won an Air Asia pillow during the in-flight games! haha not really games la, more like just lucky draw. Seats were a bit too cramped but we managed fine. haha..

Shopped every single day! But I had rozzie as my pancit partner! heh.. Cos we both cepat pancit. but you can't help but to shop in Bangkok! Cos like everything is sooooo super duper cheap over there! And everywhere you turn you see something nice that you wanna buy. And you keep thinking that, hey what if i dont buy it, den come back singapore already den regret? So we just kept on buying and buying and buying. =)

So 11 things that made the trip oh-so-memorable:

1) Great company! I shared a room with Nadz and Rozzie and we're all super messy la. haha we pushed our beds together to form one giant bed that took up 3/4 of the room! and everytime come back from shopping, we just lay out our stuffs on the bed, admiring them. haha.. Nyd shared a room with her cousins Amalina and Syasya.. while the 3 boys Nash, Idrus n Shah bunked in together. Our room was in between the other two..

2) Boys are sooo immature! haha the guys were like 23-24-ish but they acted like 18 yr olds! They kept stealing our room keys, running here and there doing silly things, but it did spice things up la! haha.. And they do weird things too.. hmmrhmm

3) Watched King Kong at MBK's cinema city. Wahhhhhh the place is DAMNNNN NICEEE la!!! I think, Cineleisure pun kalah. haha.. The corridor to the theatre, looked so futuristic, we felt like we were in a spaceship! and the tickets only costed us 120 baht each for weekend price. Which is only abt 5SGD! power! oooooh and you have to stand up for the national anthem before the movie is played! hahaha.. coool right? propaganda to its max.. *pls pay your respects to his majesty, the king* then they play the anthem.. and and and their sound system is super duper good la and the seats! oh the seats... oh-so plush! shiok!

4) The movie ended way after midnight.. about twelve thirty lydet.. and i think we took the wrong lift or something, cos we couldnt get out on the ground floor. Ended up in the carpark.. and it was pretty scary I guess, us 6 girls (de boys were in pattaya) lugging around HUGE bags of shopping and wandering around the carpark trying to find the exit! hahaha.. I think the security guards also kesian-kan us so they escorted us to the taxi stand! I found the whole thing quite amusing.. Nad, Amalina n Syasya were quite scared and they ended up taking a cab together.. and they were saying how they had to keep praying n praying that they will end up back at the hotel! Pretty amusing night..

5) yummy food!! Halal food was easy to find actually. In fact, there was a halal restaurant at the lobby of our hotel! (oooh their dinner buffet only costs abt $7!!! cheap or cheap?) We definitely didn't starve la! Had A & W also.. and a couple more halal restaurants in the pratunam area, which was just a ten minutes walk from our hotel. In fact, I think we ate quite a lot. We had like a huge feast on the second day! 3 of Nash's friends joined us and we ate lamb, grilled chicken, sweet n sour fish, tom yam soup and lots more la! kenyang giler!

6) Bargaining!
Imagine all this with a cute sing-song thai accent.. =)

*how much?*
*199 baht..*
*no less? can discount?*
*nooo nooo.. this one cheap cheap.. no discount*
*we buy many many.. can get discount?..*
*how much u wan to give me?*
*u give me 150 can?*
*nooooo.. cannotttt.. this one cheap cheap.. i give you wholesale price.. all same same..*
*plsss.. cannn? we buy more you give us cheaper?*

apparently amalina n syasya actually went down on their knees to beg for a cheaper price at patpong. and they managed to get it, cos the shopkeeper probably found it too kesian already. haha.. but fun la! it's like, if you quote a price, and they immediately agree to tt price, like spoiling the fun lydet.. haha..

7) wahhhh i went for massage twice! first time was with rozzie.. the rest of the girls had gone to patpong w the guys for some night market.. but prisoner of azkaban was on HBO and I wanted to watch.. so after the show ended we went downstairs for a foot massage.. damn ticklish that first time! haha.. second time was the next day at MBK, this time arnd me Nad n rozzie had the head n shoulders n feet massage.. wahh that one was damn shiok! she kept aasking me to sleep la! and I really fell asleep! Nyd and her cousins went for the traditional thai full body massage where apparently they twist you into all sorts of unimaginaeble positions. haha..

8) Tuk-tuk drivers are really crazy! haha.. Huzer pun kalah. so fun.. the first night, we took the tuk-tuk back from suan loom night market back to our hotel. we were in 3 tuk-tuks and the guys were really egging on the drivers to race la! ahhahahaha really macam rollercoaster! like the driver was probably driving at abt 140km/h? and it was open so we felt like flying out of the tuk-tuk man! but shiok!!! a must try for anyone who ever goes to bangkok!

9) I came with only 7 plus kilos of luggage. I came back with at least 16 kgs. at least. haha nadz and rozzie's luggage each were already 18 kgs. not counting their hand carry. haha.. The last night, all six of us girls sat in one room trying to pack everything into our bags. The room looked like it had been hit by a tsunami la. Clothes bags shoes everywhere! I now have at least 8 more pairs of shoes, 6 bags and 8 new tops. And that's not counting the number of bangles and brooches and other silly things that I bought. =) really shopping giler.

10) i love how the streets were so clean.. so much cleaner than malaysia! It's like the two places look like exact carbon cobies of each other, except you'd see so much litter on malaysian streets. and they had clean toilets almost everywhere too! I was pretty surprised by that, cos I totally was expecting the worst.

11) the weather was absolutely perfect! It didn't rain at all when we were there, at least not when we were outdoors. Not that I realised it anyway. And it was quite cooling.. Around twenty degrees at night.. Shiok right? Only on the last day it was hot and the sun was shining brightly. But the rest of the days were shiok la.. and with that kind of shiok weather, just makes shopping much more enjoyable cos you dont really sweat. =) Next time go Bangkok, must go in December!

And yes, there will definitely (insyaallah) be a next time!
